The VanLandingham Estate in the heart of Plaza Midwood

In the center of Charlotte’s thriving art community, is Plaza Midwood and the VanLandingham Estate. The historic estate was constructed in the early 1900s and is now an exclusive event space for weddings and other intimate celebrations.

It has 7,000 square feet of indoor wedding venue space, and 5,600 feet of outdoor garden and patio space. There is even a greenhouse on the grounds. The latter is the perfect place to escape to for stealing a quiet moment away from your guests!

For Lauren and Chris, their wedding at the VanLandingham Estate was not only intimate and elegant, but meaningful. They are both prominent members of the Charlotte art community, and the Plaza Midwood neighborhood is well known for its art scene. With so many Charlotte artists in attendance, it was the perfect wedding venue for their creative backgrounds.

Lauren and Chris’s Wedding at the VanLandingham Estate

The couple started by getting ready in the estate’s separate suites. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and there is ample natural light and mirrors for getting ready. Makeup artist Lindsey took advantage of the spacious room to help Lauren prepare.

Before the ceremony started, Lauren’s father met her in the suit to walk her down the aisle. Their ceremony took place outdoors in the garden, under a canopy of green trees and a flower lined arch.

After a sweet exchange of vows, they moved their reception under the large canopy tent on the VanLandingham grounds.
