Sunny California, Carmel by the Sea Engagement Photos

If you’re in the area, you should consider Carmel by the Sea engagement photos, as the town is truly unique. It sits on the sea about 2 hours south of San Francisco, north of the Big Sur area. The town itself has an old world sort of charm, and there are flowers, beautiful buildings and nearby beaches you can fit into a 1-2 hour shoot.

This California couple wanted Carmel by the Sea engagement photos, since they live there and it fits their surfer lifestyle. They’re getting married in Costa Rica, so it was a benefit that their engagement photos at Carmel by the Sea will have a similar look and also be close to home!

Exploring Carmel by the Sea and Cypress Inn

We met at the Cypress Inn, which had a lot of quaint areas for photos. The bright and colorful flowers around the building made great spots to stop and pose.

They were dressed beachy and casual in a simple silk slip dress and white button up. Neutral colors are always great for photos, since they don’t distract the eye and let the surroundings and emotions be the focus.

The bright red Azaleas and other flowers popped against their champagne colored outfits. We stopped and admired the giant succulent plants along the way as well.

One thing we really enjoyed while walking around was how dog friendly the city is. If you come to Carmel by the Sea for Engagement photos, it would be no problem to have your dog with you. Dogs enter freely with their owners in bars and restaurants and everyone enjoys having them around. Additionally, the Cypress Inn is also a dog-friendly hotel, meaning you can stay there with your pet!
